flohmarkt is a self-hostable, decentralised platform for buying and selling second-hand items. Each instance is run independently, but all instances are interconnected through ActivityPub — the same open protocol used by Mastodon, Pixelfed, and the wider Fediverse.

You can browse items from many instances at once, contact sellers directly, and follow listings that interest you, without creating a separate account for every site.

flohmarkt is available in many languages. You can help translate it into yours!

flohmarkt is used all over the place. You can make one for your town, your community, or even your animal rescue.

flohmarkt is free and open-source software licensed under the AGPL-3.0.

today an important cornerstone towards implementing FEP-0837 in has been finished: i overhauled the backend of the currency system. Each currency now relies on a single global identifier in the form of an URL. We hope for most of these to be URLs to entities in the future but of course we did not compromise the ability to have free-form currencies. When a user creates a free-form currency, there will be a URL for that instance.
