today an important cornerstone towards implementing FEP-0837 in #flohmarkt has been finished: i overhauled the backend of the currency system. Each currency now relies on a single global identifier in the form of an URL. We hope for most of these to be URLs to #wikidata entities in the future but of course we did not compromise the ability to have free-form currencies. When a user creates a free-form currency, there will be a URL for that instance.

You can now use a fediverse profile URL anywhere you need to refer to a fedi account, in addition to a handle on #flohmarkt

today, the #flohmarkt software has witnessed its first login via #OIDC #Oauth2. A keycloak installation served as the identity provider. This marks the beginning of the end of our integrate-more-auth-backends saga!

#flohmarkt admins: please enable the new FediAuth feature when updating to 0.14!

It’s benign and will allow users to log in via their existing Fediverse accounts, no extra password needed!

Also we’d like some feedback if possible!

I know there’s still things we could add or improve (like having open registrations being separate from whether accounts are active for example), but we need to know if you need them!

I think it's our biggest release since 0.2.0 and we thank @nlnet and @NGIZero for making this possible.

As spoilered, the most important changes are Support for multiple authentication backends (username/password, ldap, fediauth) and an overhaul of the geographic concept behind flohmarkt.

Mit dem jüngsten #Update haben wir den Dollar als weitere Währung hinzugefügt.
Auf diese Weise könnt Ihr Eure Angebote, die mit der falschen Währung sind:
Erst in Dollar umwandeln, speichern,
dann wieder in #Euro unmwandeln, speichern.
Danach sollte das Angebot in Euro stehen.
Oftmals reicht auch ein erneutes Speichern. Falls nicht: Siehe oben.

From the download counter on the release page at codeberg I estimated that there are between 30 and 40 #flohmarkt instances out there running on #yunohost.

(Who uses ZIP 😉 ? Well, the yunohost integration does and the counter went up by the numbers shortly after publishing the latest update to the yunohost app integration.)

On the wiki we have a list of ~20 flohmarkts. The list is meant for users to choose an instance and for admins to look for other flohmarkts to federate with.

I'd like to invite everybody to drop us a line to add your flohmarkt to the wiki: either as a codeberg issue or as a fedimessage or fedipost or on #flohmarkt IRC.

And even if you'd not like to be on the wiki page: federate with others to make your small ads more visible.

#Federation enables that #SmallAd​s show up on the other instances an instance is federated with directly. This gives every small ad some more reach.

My impression is that federation is extremly important to make the flohmarkts more successful as an alternative to the well know centralized services.

I opened an issue to discuss how to make federating easier without forcing anyone to share more data with the world than they do with the actual version of flohmarkt.

Coming soon to #flohmarkt: FediAuth for any kind of #ActivityPub users. Simply send a DM to a flohmarkt instance you want to login to, and you will be able to create a user and upload small/classified ads.

Just updated the #yunohost package of #flohmarkt to the latest release 0.12.1. All the new features of 0.12.0 are included.

It is #Fediverse based marketplace. Maybe if it gets popular, it can replace craigslist and Facebook marketplace.

#fediday is over and i want to thank @berlinfediday and @tobias for inviting me and the opportunity to present #flohmarkt !

i had many good conversations, many impulses have been set, i will take home more from the event than i dreamed of and that's awesome.

i loved the fact that there was always this certain static in the air - that "aufbruchstimmung" - that only happens when many people with aligning goals come together and forge plans for the future.
